Katelyn "Kate" McCallister is the mother of Kevin, Buzz, Megan, Linnie, and Jeff McCallister and the wife of Peter McCallister in the 1990 and 1992 20th Century Fox live-action films Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York played by Cathrine O'Hara and in the 2002 live-action made-for-TV films Home Alone 4 played by Clare Carey.

Kate McCallister is a loving and devoted mother, who will go to great lengths to keep her son safe and sound. Despite her best efforts to prepare for a nice family vacation, she is initially stressed out and overwhelmed.
Although lacking in street smarts, Kate is extremely protective of her son, Kevin, and will go to great lengths to keep him safe. She is easily fooled by Buzz's fake apology, causing her to become neglectful to Kevin's needs.
When Kate realizes her mistake, she is overcome with remorse. She is determined to make things right and won't let anything stand in her way. She rushes out at a moment's notice, frantic with worry, and jumps at any challenge that threatens her kin.
Kate McCallister is a panicky yet maternal woman who strives for the best for her son. Despite her flaws, her love and concern for her family know no bounds.
