Background[]
Marmaduke, the world's most lovable Great Dane, leaps from comic strip fame (appearing in 600 newspapers in over 20 countries) to big screen stardom in this family comedy event. A suburban family moves to a new neighborhood in Orange County, California with their large yet lovable Great Dane, who has a tendency to wreak havoc in his own oblivious way. But its not all living large for the Duke, who finds that fitting in with his new four-legged friends - and a potential romantic interest - isn't always easy for a super-sized teenage dog.
In the 2010 film, he is a Great Dane whose family moves from Kansas to a wealthy California subdivision. When he gets there, his family is interested in the fancy of California.
Personality[]
He is a goofy and gangly dog who is known for having a "messy but lovable" personality, and he is often seen with a rambunctious attitude.
For all of his clumsiness and incompetence, he has a noble personality and is entirely sweet-hearted to the point of showing loyalty towards his family the Wilsons.
Despite being iconic for being disobedient and unruly, he is also great with kids and makes an excellent family pet at the end of the day, making him have a heart of gold.

Trivia[]
- He was known to be the clumsy Great Dane who was also mistaken to be ripping off Scooby Doo, even though Marmaduke came out 15 years before Scooby. Which is very similar to how Heathcliff was mistaken to be a rip off of Garfield even though Heathcliff came out 3 years before Garfield did.
- Speaking of Heathcliff, Marmaduke and Heathcliff both starred in a 1981 show called "Heathcliff and Marmaduke", which (technically) is the second animated Heathcliff series produced by Ruby-Spears Productions.
