On December 14, 2017, The Walt Disney Company announced its purchase of 20th Century Fox from News Corporation. However, the news and broadcasting parts of the company were moved over to Fox Corporation.
On March 20, 2019, after bidding a higher price for 20th Century Fox and 1 year and several months, the purchase was complete. A day later, It was announced that Fox 2000 Pictures would close in late 2019.
